Viking Swimmers cross Choctaw Bay (3.4 miles) while training to swim around Key West (12.5 miles). As a team they completed the event in under 6 hours! In 2006 they again hit the open water to swim around St. Croix (a 5 mile swim they all individually completed in under 3 hours).

John Piowaty (top center), former Viking swimmer and University of Florida water polo player, returns to the area. John competed this past year with personal best times in the 50 free and 100 free at the Southeastern Championship Swim Meet. John also worked with area swimmers learning the basics of Water Polo.
